Kirk Crow, Alexander High School, teaches 9th grade World History
“I have had the privilege of working closely with many phenomenal teachers, however, Mr. Crow sets the standard because of his commitment to excellence in his classroom. Kirk is an exemplary educator who goes above and beyond to create a positive and enriching learning environment for his students. His teaching methods are innovative, engaging, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Mr. Crow is admired for his ability to connect with students on a personal level. Lauren Bednarcyzk, Northwest High School, teaches 9th grade Social Studies
“As an educator, Lauren consistently goes above and beyond for her students and colleagues, making her a standout member of our school community. Lauren’s approach to teaching is defined by her creativity and innovation. She continuously seeks new ways to engage her students and incorporates diverse learning techniques that accommodate different learning styles. Lauren is an exceptional team player. She is always willing to share her resources and strategies with colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration within our staff. Most importantly, Lauren genuinely cares about the well-being of her students. Tom Ely, East Community Learning Center, teaches 8th grade Technology and Robotics
“Tom Ely works to build real world experiences for students in and out of the classroom through his enthusiasm and application of technology education. Teaching middle grades, 6-8, Mr. Ely builds problem solving skills through hands-on labs, experiences, and peer competition to continually drive scholars for improved results. Mr. Ely coaches the robotics teams for both grades 6-8 and 9-12. Through his dedication, extra time, and welcoming, fun-loving personality, East scholars come back year after year to continue to address the new challenges provided through the Vex Robotic Program.” - Dr. Walter Noland, Principal

Brynlee Mangette, Paulding Junior High School, 8th grader
“Brynlee Mangette is one of the top performing students in Paulding Junior High School. Regularly achieving 4.0 grade point average each quarter. She also is a leader in the sport of Volleyball as a setter who over the last 2 years has helped lead her team to a 35-3 record. She was also instrumental in starting a lunch study group where many students would come in during their lunch before major assessments and practice and review. Brynlee was a top achiever in the school spelling bee and was recognized last year as the top 7th grade student for the school spelling bee. She had been involved in student council and is currently in higher level math classes at the high school level as a middle school student. You could not ask for a better student to represent the great state of Ohio.” - Todd Harmon, Teacher
Rebecca Boardman, Lorain County Vocational School, 12th grader
“A bright ray of sunshine, Rebecca is the type of student whom teachers wish they could clone. She is a senior at Lorain County Joint Vocational School in the Engineering, Technology and Design Department. She is interested in attending college and pursuing interior design or architecture. Hard-working and a conscientious student Rebecca displays leadership qualities both in and out of the school environment. She is an active member in the Interact Club which takes part in service projects in the community. A talented thespian, she has participated in over two dozen performances with school and community theater groups. Not only is she a teacher's assistant for Sunday School at church, but she also works part time at two restaurant jobs to save money for college. Rebecca also has a passion for art and drawing which has provided many opportunities to collaborate with artists via social media around the world.” - Her mother, Bridget Boardman.
