Winner Wednesday

How Ohioans play Lottery may look different these days, but one thing is still the same – Ohioans are winning! Check out this week’s Winner Wednesday.

Tabby Vest is celebrating a rocking win this week. Tabby won $7,068 playing EZPLAY Progressive Jackpot game Rock’n 777s. She purchased her winning ticket at Certified on Eastern Ave. in Chillicothe. She plans to use her prize for a trip to Myrtle Beach.

Jenn Thomas from Parma had a very special Mother’s Day after a big win. She won the top prize of $150,000 playing 7. Jenn said, “My 7-year-old, Kenna, wanted donuts for breakfast from Speedway at 5 a.m. So, mom treated herself for Mother’s Day (and being up so early!) and scratched a $150,000 winner!” Jenn purchased her winning ticket at Speedway on State Road and Snow in Parma.

John (aka BlueBlur86) is celebrating a Cashword win. He won $300 playing $1,000,000 Cashword. John purchased his winning ticket at Circle K in Lima. He plans to save his winnings and buy his mom a birthday gift.

Rachel and Larry Storer maxed the money and won big playing scratch-offs. They won $10,000 playing Max the Money. Their winning ticket was purchased at Certified Gas Station in St. Mary’s. Rachel and Larry used their prize to pay off some bills and buy new furniture.

Justin Hanley scratched his way to a big win. He won $5,000 playing Max the Money.

Hitting the jackpot with Ohio’s own little lotto game, Rolling Cash 5

You might consider Rolling Cash 5, the Ohio Lottery’s “little lotto game,” one of our best kept secrets.

Rolling-Cash-5-jackpot-wins.pngDuring the month of May,  nine lucky ticket holders snatched the Rolling Cash 5 jackpot prize. Winners hailed from all across the state, from Cortland, located less than 30 minutes from the Pennsylvania border in northeast Ohio, to Cincinnati. Retailers selling the jackpot-winning ticket won too, each earning a $500 sales bonus and gaining attention around their local community.

The Rolling Cash 5 jackpot prize starts at $100,000 and continues to grow until someone is lucky enough to match all five numbers. This past month, the jackpot grew to $209,000 before Deli 4 Less in Bedford sold the winning ticket to one of its customers.

Interested in learning more?  Rolling Cash 5 costs $1 to play and offers four ways to win. Overall odds are 1 in 9, and for those with an eye on the jackpot, top prize odds of 1 in 575,757.

Saluting the Class of 2020

Graduating from high school is one of those milestone moments in life. It's truly an accomplishment to be recognized. But things are a little different this year. Instead of the class of 2020 gathered on the stage together, graduation has taken the form of drive-ups and private walks across the stage to receive their diplomas and turn their tassels alone.

At the Ohio Lottery, we understand the importance of celebrating impressive accomplishments, which is why our Best of Class program is very near and dear to our hearts. We are saddened to cancel our annual Best of Class program and wish we could have recognized the achievements of valedictorians across the state, but with the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in the closure of schools and recommended social distancing protocol, we did not want to put the safety and health of our students and production partners at risk when assembling for the customary video spot.

We still wanted to honor the Class of 2020, and our alternative produced television spot salutes all graduating Ohio seniors receiving diplomas during this unprecedented time, regardless of merit.

We are proud of all who are graduating and can't wait to see the great things you'll do in the future. We look forward to the day we can resume our traditional Best of Class program and recognize Ohio’s outstanding high school graduates.

Until then, click here to see our salute to the Class of 2020.
