We’re wrapping up January by celebrating winners. Keep reading to see who’s winning in Ohio this week.

Isaac Williams of Pomeroy is feeling lucky this Winner Wednesday. He won $10,000 playing Lucky $500.

Marilyn Brayles of Clyde has 50,000 reasons to celebrate this week. She won $50,000 playing Cash Celebration.

Andrew Mayo of Lorain is celebrating an extravagant win this week. He won $10,000 playing $100 Million Cash Extravaganza.

DeAnna Rouston of Wallbridge welcomed the week with a big win. She won $109,938 playing EZPLAY® Quick Spot. DeAnna won big on January 22, 2020. She purchased her winning ticket at Miller Tap Room, located at 413 N. Main Street in Wallbridge.

William Harner of Ada scratched his way to a spectacular win. He won $10,000 playing Platinum Diamond Spectacular.

Debra Cook of Toledo maxed the money and won big this week. She won $10,000 playing Max the Money.

Jim Bush of Lorain is racing through the week with a big win. He won $10,000 playing Fastest Road to $1 Million.

Winner Wednesday

Winter weather is officially here, but these winners are heating up. Keep reading to see who is winning in Ohio this week.

Robert Seeman of Akron was a million-dollar winner this week. He won the top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years. Robert chose the cash option prize.

Todd Carney of Port Clinton celebrated a big KENO win this week. He won $20,037 playing the draw game.

Willie Ellis, Jr. of Sheffield Lake has 10,000 reasons to celebrate this Winner Wednesday. He won $10,000 playing Cash Celebration.

Sherry Hatfield of Wellston welcomed this week with a top prize win. She won $20,000 playing Lucky Jackpot.

Jeffrey Hollen of Guysville celebrated an extravagant win this week. He won $10,000 playing $100 Million Cash Extravaganza. Jeffrey purchased his winning ticket at Shop Mart, located at 1 East Stimson Ave. in Athens.

David McBride of Logan scratched his way to a top prize win. He won $20,000 playing Power Play Cashword. David purchased his winning ticket at Crossorad of Logan East, located at 930 East Front Street in Logan.

Timothy Yales of Pemberville is another big winner this week. He won $10,000 playing Cash Celebration.

The Blue Bird Trust has claimed the $18.7 million prize for the Classic Lotto drawing held on July 27, 2019.

The Great Hope Trust has claimed the $375 million prize for the Mega Millions drawing held on December 17, 2019.

Winner Wednesday

Another week, another round of winners. Keep reading to see who’s winning in Ohio in this week’s Winner Wednesday.

Eugene Rayfield of Bloomsburg, PA scratched his way to a big win. He won $10,000 playing $5 Million Payout.

Mattison Morris of Wellston has 10,000 reasons to celebrate this Winner Wednesday. She won $10,000 playing Cash Celebration! Mattison and her daughter Brooklyn celebrated the big win at our Athens regional office. She purchased her winning ticket at Pitt’s Stop, located at 26 Broadway St. in Coalton.

Shirley Reynolds of Bidwell had a very happy week after her big win. She won $10,000 playing Happy Holidays. Shirley purchased her winning ticket at Go Mart #39, located at 1875 Eastern Ave. in Gallipolis.

Richard Kinzel of North Olmsted felt like gold after a big win. He won $10,000 playing Diamonds and Gold.

Penny Roan of Canton will be celebrating her big win this week. She won $50,000 playing Cash Celebration. Penny purchased her winning ticket at Walther’s Café, located at 1836 Maple Ave. NE in Canton.

Sherry Denman of Cortland is ready to get her family farming business on the fast track after her big win. She won $1,000,000 playing Fastest Road to $1 Million. Sherry purchased her winning ticket at Lakeside Sport Shop, located at 2115 Wilson Sharpsville Rd. in Cortland. She plans to put the prize money into the family business. “We farm, so we’re going to update our farm equipment. First thing is a corn planter. We want to get a twelve row and get done faster,” she said.

John Fields of Ashland welcomed this week with an extreme win. He won the second-tier top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years playing Extreme Millions.

November Partners in Education Winners

There was a lot to be thankful for in November. Something we are always thankful for is Ohio’s incredible students and teachers. Keep reading for our Partners in Education November Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month.

Our first November Academic All Star is Ariyka Ball. Aryika is a Senior at Roy C. Start High School. She plays multiple instruments and is involved in Drama Club where she assists with stage set up, painting, lighting, cameras and makeup. Andre Baker, Aryika’s step-father, nominated her and describes her as “independent, socially diverse, and emotionally and mentally strong.”

Tiffany Comberger is our next Academic All Star. Tiffany is a Senior at Eastern High School where she has a 3.9 GPA. She also attends UC Clermont for the CCP Program where she is on the Dean’s List. Tiffany is described as a go-getter. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Senior Class. Tiffany is also known for always lending a helping hand.

Michaela Creager is our next Academic All Star. Michaela is in the fifth grade at Midvale Elementary School. She is described as hardworking, kind, compassionate, respectful, responsible, and inspiring. Teachers admire her “excitement for challenges and how she pushes through even the most difficult concepts without quitting.” Principal Ryan Wells nominated Michaela and said, “She manifests character that inspires others in a positive way; she makes a difference.”

Our next Academic All Star is Nolan Gast. Nolan is a Senior at Perkins High School. He is described as “an extremely driven student”; he is involved in multiple organizations and sports, works throughout the year, and maintains excellent grades in all of his classes. He plans to pursue a degree in Food Sciences next year. Ashlie Gowitzka is one of Nolan’s teachers and his nominator. She notes that he has taken the most rigorous courses Perkins High School has to offer and takes part in the academic experience program, which affords him the opportunity to get intern/work experience in his field of interest.

Jeremy Jonozzo is a Junior at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School and a November Academic All Star. Jeremy is a straight-A student in Honors and AP classes and a multi-sport athlete. He is a letter winner in both varsity football and basketball, and as a Sophomore he was Honorable Mention All-District in basketball. For years he has volunteered at St. Basil PSR programs as a student teacher helper, Habitat for Humanity, a special needs basketball program called Hoopin Stars, and a community kitchen to help feed the hungry. He also volunteers his time as a football and basketball coach. Laura Jonozzo nominated Jeremy and said, “He remains steadfast and committed to his goal of playing college sports.”

Jocelyn Summer is our next Academic All Star. Jocelyn is in the sixth-grade at Milton Union Middle School. She is known for being responsible, having a great attitude, and being a leader inside and out of the classroom. McKenna Kotwica nominated Jocelyn and said, “Jocelyn is honest and encouraging to her peers. She always turns in her work on time and performs to the best of her ability. She is a pleasure!”

Our last November Academic All Star is Mackenzie Upp. Mackenzie is a seventh grader at Edison Middle School where, along with her work in the classroom, she is involved in Choir, Band, Junior Model United Nations, Bible Club and Drama Club. She is described as “a model student in every sense of the word.” Meagan Patron nominated Mackenzie and said, “Her focus on being conscientious leads to her success in and out of the classroom. Mackenzie loves to help in any way needed and is the first to volunteer to tutor others or run errands for her teachers. She models good character with her positive attitude and drive to persevere in the face of any challenge.”

Our first November Teacher of the Month is Jessica Arnold. Jessica teaches Skills for the seventh grade at West Clermont Middle School. Racheal Ritter has a daughter in Jessica’s class and nominated her for Teacher of the Month. Rachael said, “Miss Arnold has gone above and beyond to help my child succeed this year. She has helped advocate for my daughter. She has been, by far, the best teacher my daughter has had in the last 9 years!”

Laurie Dean is our next Teacher of the Month. Laurie teaches eleventh and twelfth grade Cosmetology at Madison Comprehensive High School. She is described as very thoughtful and helpful. Sarah Sesco is one of Laurie’s students and her nominator. Sarah said, “She’s very motherly […] and when one of us students is having a bad day, she talks to us about it and how we can’t let it control us when we’re working.”

Elizabeth Fink is our next Teacher of the Month. Elizabeth teaches seventh and eighth grade Science at East Palestine Middle School. She is known for her tremendous care and compassion for her students and being supportive to staff. Elizabeth provides academic support for at-risk students and supports the school’s Science Club, Builder’s Club, Science Fair, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports programs. She is also a counselor for EPMS’s YMCA Camp Konokwee and Camp Frederick and coaches the school’s Power of the Pen team.

Diana Jones is our final November Teacher of the Month. Diana teaches Kindergarten at Charles A. Mooney School and she is described as “an amazing Kindergarten teacher who is able to transform her students in nine short months.” Susan Meitin is one of Diana’s coworkers and said, “She models how to welcome and include everyone focusing on how [students] are alike rather than how they are different. Diana is also very supportive of her fellow teachers. She remembers and recognizes people’s accomplishments and special moments.”

The First Winner Wednesday of 2020

A new year is here, and these Ohio Lottery players are starting it off with big wins! Keep reading for the first Winner Wednesday of 2020.

Robert Burns of Avon Lake is celebrating an extravagant win. He won $10,000 playing $100 Million Cash Extravaganza.

Samuel Ellan of Elyria rolled into Winner Wednesday with a jackpot win. He won $355,000 playing Rolling Cash 5. Samuel won big on the December 31, 2019 drawing. The winning numbers were 7-8-18-23-37. He purchased his winning ticket at Discount Drug Mart, located at 500 N. Abbe Rd. in Elyria.

Willy Adams of Bellevue merrily welcomed 2020 with a big win. He won $10,000 playing Merry Millions.

Nancy Krasienko of Lorain scratched her way to a big win. She won $10,000 playing Happy Holidays.

Jacqueline Black of Lorain is another big winner this week. She won $10,000 playing Lucky Loot HD.

Jason Reynolds of Cleveland is shining like a diamond after his big win. He won the top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years playing Diamonds and Gold.

Jefferey Hessler of Huron had a very happy Monday this week. He won $100,000 playing Happy Holidays.

Michael Rhodes of Elyria scratched his way to a big win. He won $10,000 playing $100 Million Money Explosion.

Ronald Asher, Jr. of Jefferson is celebrating an extreme win this Winner Wednesday. He won $40,000 a year for 25 years playing Extreme Millions. Ronald was beside himself when he realized he won, saying, “This is my biggest win besides getting married!” Ronald works seven days a week and was headed to work when he stopped and purchased the ticket. He thought about purchasing a $5 scratch off but is so glad he did not. “It gave me a great feeling,” he said. He went home and told his wife, who then let him take the day off work. When asked about his plans for his prize, Ronald said, “We’ve been to Disney once, so I think we’re going to invest in some rental properties.”

Varsha Patel of Youngstown is celebrating a top prize win this week. She won $40,000 a year for 25 years playing $1,000,000 Cashword. Varsha purchased her winning ticket at CVS #03302, located at 7230 Market St. in Boardman.

Know Your Limits to Keep Gambling Fun

Keep it Fun Ohio is aimed at offering helpful tips to keep gambling in check by offering easy ways to keep gambling fun, like knowing your limits, keeping gambling a social activity and having other hobbies.

The “Get the Facts” section lists facts and stats about problem gambling and dispels some popular myths about gambling. Visitors to the site can also learn about the warning signs that someone might have a gambling problem. By clicking on get HELP/give HELP at the top of the screen, visitors can learn where to find help. The page offers a live chat function and the Ohio Problem Gambling Helpline for immediate contact with someone who can help.
