Ohio Lottery and ODNR to Award Deserving Teacher

CLEVELAND, OH – The Ohio Lottery is excited to announce a partnership with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for the Teacher Appreciation Week Field Trip Giveaway. One lucky Ohio teacher will win a field trip for their entire class to learn and experience the outdoors with the help of ODNR experts.

Teachers nominated for the Lottery’s Partners in Education Teacher of the Month from September 2022 to March 2023 will be automatically included in the drawing for the field trip giveaway.

Nominations are accepted by the 10th of each month through an online submission form on the Ohio Lottery website. Visit to submit a nomination for a teacher.

“We’re excited to expand our recognition of educators by adding this partnership with ODNR to offer another way to reward the wonderful teachers we have here in Ohio in addition to our monthly recognition through the Partners in Education Program,” Molly Fanta, Partners in Education Coordinator said.

The winning teacher will be contacted by a Lottery representative and announced in May.

One teacher, and their class, will receive a field trip to ODNR property, with all transportation costs covered. ODNR properties include state parks, forests, nature preserves, wildlife areas, and much more.

“It is so important for young people to get out and experience nature first-hand,” ODNR Director Mary Mertz said.  “We are thrilled and proud to be able to welcome these students and teach them about all the important conservation work being done here in Ohio.”

The Partners in Education program recognizes Ohio students, teachers and schools for outstanding performance and achievement. Based on the nominations received, one teacher and one student from every region are recognized monthly, September through May, either as an Academic All Star or as a Teacher of the Month.
