Top Prize Win on $500,000 Cashword

OREGON - Amy Hanudel planned to cash her $500,000 Cashword ticket and use the $50 win to pick up dinner. Now she's got much more than dinner plans because the ticket was actually a $500,000 winner.

After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent, she will receive $360,000.

Amy said she handed the ticket to the clerk and told her it was a $50 winner she wanted to cash.

"She scanned the ticket and said she couldn't cash it. She walked me to the end of the counter and showed me the screen that said it was a $500,000 winner. I couldn't believe it," Amy said.

$500,000 Cashword is Amy's favorite game. She thought she only uncovered five words in the puzzle to win $50, but there were six. She was shocked she didn't catch it.

Amy and her fiance plan to pay off a few bills and splurge a bit, but they will put most of the winnings away for retirement to help them reach their goal of retiring early.
Amy purchased her winning ticket at Johnny's On the Spot, located at 2468 Woodville Rd. in Oregon.

$500,000 Cashword is a $10 scratch-off with a top prize of $500,000. As of November 3, 2020, there are two top prizes remaining in the game. Click here to learn more about $500,000 Cashword and the entire lineup of Ohio Lottery scratch-offs.
