Ohio Lottery Directs Racinos to Comply with Governor’s Order on Mass Gatherings

CLEVELAND – Today Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald notified the state’s seven racinos that they must comply with Governor DeWine’s Executive Order 2020-01D and Director of the Ohio Department of Health Dr. Amy Acton’s order to limit mass gatherings in light of the Coronavirus.  
 
The Order defines “mass gatherings” as “any event or convening that brings together one hundred (100) or more persons in a single room or single space at the same time”. One hundred persons includes staff and patrons.
 
All seven properties are expected to be in compliance by midnight tonight.  Failure to comply may result in administrative action including temporary shutdown of the video lottery terminals.
 
The properties include JACK Thistledown Racino in Cleveland, MGM Northfield Park in Northfield, El Dorado Gaming Scioto Downs in Columbus, Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course in Youngstown, Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway in Dayton, and Miami Valley Gaming in Lebanon.
