COLUMBUS, OH – Jeffrey Johnson of Columbus put on a pair of shorts and found a $10 bill. An unexpected surprise, he used the cash to purchase a $10 Decade of Dollars ticket at Speedway #9283, located at 5984 Sawmill Road in Dublin. He won $15,000 and will take home $10,800 after federal and state tax withholdings.
He told Ohio Lottery Communications staff that he started scratching the ticket and found a $750 prize. He continued to play, but as the prize climbed, he asked the Speedway store clerk to finish playing the ticket for him.
“I was afraid to finish scratching,” he says.
He says that he and his wife will use the winnings to pay off their credit card debit, take a weekend vacation and put the rest into savings.
“I just couldn’t believe it,” Jeff says.
Jeff recently made his claim at the Ohio Lottery’s Columbus regional office, located at 780 Morrison Road. To learn more about the $10 Decade of Dollars scratch off, please visit: https://www.ohiolottery.com/Games/ScratchOffs/10DollarGames/Decade-of-Dollars
