COLUMBUS – Samantha Maxwell of Pataskala has a lot to celebrate. She turned 22 years old on August 2. A few days ago, she bought her first $20 instant game. Turns out, the Ultimate Millions instant netted her a $100,000 winning ticket.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent, Maxwell receives $71,000, kind of a late birthday present. She plans to buy a new car, go to school and invest some of the winnings.
Maxwell said, on that day, she was a little bored waiting for her boyfriend, so she bought her first $20 instant ticket from Pataskala Beer and Wine Drive Thru.
