Franklin County resident wins $1 Million

CLEVELAND Christopher Belcher of Grove City won $1 million in the Ohio Millions top prize drawing. There were 30 semi-finalist entries in the game held on June 30, 2016 at Ohio Lottery headquarters in Cleveland.

Belcher had the option of cash or annuity. He chose the annuity, $50,000 a year for 20 years and receives $35,500 for the next 20 years after mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent.

He purchased the ticket from the Kroger Company, 1585 Georgesville Road in Columbus. He only buys instant games and says he has won smaller prizes, nothing this big. He is looking at buying new cars. He said his wife Pat, who was more shocked than he was, is looking into changing her full-time work hours to part-time.
