Stepping Up and Winning $1 Million

COLUMBUS – A Washington Court House resident is celebrating the Ohio Lottery’s 40th Anniversary with a $1 million win. David Alsop used part of his winnings from a previous ticket to buy the Ohio Lottery’s 40th Anniversary Millions instant ticket, and he won $1,000,000.

A second-tier annuity prize, paid as $40,000 a year for 25 years, Alsop chose the cash option. He receives $355,000 after federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent.

Alsop said he was a just a little excited, after all he’s not new to winning a million dollars. He won $1 million in June 2011 after scratching the instant, $5 Million Cash Extravaganza. While Alsop said he is sitting back and thinking about what he will do with the new win he says, “If you win a bit, play it back, but step up your game!”

Alsop purchased the ticket from North Bridge Duchess, 760 N. Bridge St. in Chillicothe.
