Million Dollar Win Changes Everything

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS – The day may have started out negative for a Garfield Heights resident, but it ended on a positive note. Cynthia Radosavljevic won $1 million in the January 21, 2014 Mega Millions drawing after matching all five numbers and no mega ball.

Radosavljevic said her day started with being turned away from having blood work because she had no insurance. Things turned around a few hours later when her son called to tell her that a one million dollar winner was purchased at her regular lottery stop, Boulevard Convenient in Garfield Heights. Cynthia quickly grabbed her ticket to check the numbers and realized she was the winner. After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent, Radosavljevic receives $710,000. Cynthia said she plans to share her winnings with her brother and get out of debt.

Boulevard Convenient also wins. The store, located at 8808 Garfield Boulevard, receives a $1,000 agent selling bonus for selling a second-tier prize winning Mega Millions ticket.
