Second $1 Million New Year’s Raffle Ticket Claimed
The New Year is off to a great start for a Brunswick resident!

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS - A Brunswick resident won $1 million after checking her New Year’s Raffle ticket. Mary Jane Waite claimed her prize in the Ohio Lottery’s regional office.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent Waite will receive a check for $690,000.

She purchased the winning ticket from Rapid Run Marathon located at 2968 Ridge Road in Medina. Rapid Run Marathon receives a $5,000 bonus for selling a $1 million top prize.

George C. Tapocsci of Cleveland was first to claim one of the four $1 million dollar tickets sold in the New Year’s Raffle. Tapocsci purchased the winning ticket from Marc’s # 46, 1650 Snow Road in Parma. Marc’s # 46 receives a $5,000 sales bonus for selling a $1 million top prize.

Four $1 million top prizes were available in the 2012 New Year’s Raffle. The other two top prize winning tickets were sold at Dunham Beverage in Maple Heights, and The Party Pak in Upper Sandusky. Each retailer receives a $5,000 bonus for selling a top prize winning New Year’s Raffle ticket.

The New Year’s Raffle was a sellout, providing $5 million in prizes ranging from $100 to $1 million. Complete drawing results are available on the Ohio Lottery website,
