Winning is no April fool’s joke

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS – It may have been April Fools’ day, but the win was no joke for a North Olmsted resident.  Twenty-four-year-old Abdullah Jaffal is the top prize winner of $100,000 in the Ohio Lottery’s instant game, 20 X The  Money.
On April 1, 2011, Ohio Lottery representatives presented Jaffal with an oversized check for $100,000 in the Lottery’s Brooklyn Heights’ regional office
Skeptical at first, Jaffal soon realized that this was no April fool’s joke and said that he would use the win to purchase a new house for his soon-to-be wife. Jaffal purchased the TPD entry ticket in July 2009 from Burton BP on Kinsman Road in Burton, Ohio. At that time he received $5,500 and was automatically entered into the top prize drawing for $100,000. The TPD drawing was held at Lottery Central in Cleveland on 3/29/11. Jaffal was one of 45 entrants. Burton BP receives a $1,000 agent selling bonus for selling a top prize winning ticket.
The Ohio Lottery is actively seeking winners of all prize levels to share their stories.  Players with an interest in telling theirs can contact the Ohio Lottery at
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $17 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Ohio Lottery transferred $728.6 million to the Lottery Profits Education Fund in FY10.
