COLUMBUS - Five players pooling together will start the New Year right after winning a top prize in the Ohio Lottery’s New Year’s Raffle. Lyn Dodds of Sunbury, John Mays of Pataskala, David C. Schwendenman of Columbus, Edward Beadnell of Westerville and Leslie Hunt of Gahanna had one of the four- $1 million winning tickets sold in the game.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, the pool will split $690,000. They purchased the winning ticket at AM/PM #620 in Sunbury. AM/PM # 620 receives a $5,000 agent sales bonus for selling a top prize-winning ticket.
The New Year’s Raffle game offered 3,334 total prizes, with the Ohio Lottery drawing $1-million, $10,000 $1,500, $500 and $100 prizes. Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their New Year’s Raffle prizes.
