NORTH CANTON - Yesterday Fannie L. Norman of Ravenna and Abdul Bilal of Akron claimed one of four top prizes in the Ohio Lottery’s New Year’s Raffle. After processing the claim work in the Akron/Canton Regional office yesterday afternoon, the sister and brother will share $1 million.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Norman and Bilal will share $690,000. They purchased the winning ticket at Marc’s #56, located at 1145 E. Main Street in Ravenna. Marc’s #56 receives a $5,000 agent sales bonus.
The New Year’s Raffle game offered 3,334 total prizes, with the Ohio Lottery drawing $1-million, $10,000 $1,500, $500 and $100 prizes. The New Year’s Raffle offered $5.0 million in total prizes.
Customers can claim New Year’s Raffle’s prizes at the Lottery’s downtown Cleveland headquarters or at any one of its nine regional offices. The $500 and $100 prizes can be cashed at any licensed Ohio Lottery retailer. Players have 180 days from the draw date to make their claim.
