She could have taken a lump sum but instead decided to take the annuity option. After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Cook will receive $34,500 yearly for the next 20 years.
Cook, who buys two to three instants a week, said she would use her winnings in her plans for retirement.

The single mother of nine-year-old Janae said she would use her win to pay off bills and invest for college since she is a student. After mandatory federal and state withholding taxes totaling 31 percent, Schneider will receive $34,500 for the next 20 years.
“A customer came in and bought two Magnificent Millions tickets leaving one left on the roll. I tried to convince him to buy it but he said no,” she said. “It was the last ticket; I used the ten dollars that I found to buy it.”
