Willowick resident claims top prize

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS - A resident of Willowick claimed a top prize after she scratched an Ohio Lottery instant ticket. Rita A. Chamberlain won $100,000 on the instant, 20X the Money.
 
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, she receives a check for $69,000.
 
Chamberlain purchased the winning ticket from Shoregate Beverage & Liquor, 255 Shoregate Mall at East 305 in Willowick. Shoregate Beverage & Liquor receives a $1,000 bonus for selling a top prize winning ticket.
 
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $16 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Lottery’s fiscal year 2009 transfer to the Lottery Profits for Education Fund was $702.3 million.
