Tuesday, February 17, 2009

ATHENS - Keep scratching is the advice of the latest winner of an Ohio Lottery instant game. Charles A. Boggs of Portsmouth won a $15,000 top prize on Merry Money Tripler. Boggs said he bought five tickets because it was a new roll.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Boggs will receive a check for $10,350.

He purchased the winning ticket from Kenny’s Convenient Mart, 7482 ST. RT. 139 in Lucasville.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $15.5 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Lottery’s fiscal year 2008 transfer to the Lottery Profits for Education Fund was $672.2 million.
