$2 million winner from Cuyahoga Falls claims prize
Tuesday, January 27, 2009

NORTH CANTON -  A resident of Cuyahoga Falls will be “clothed” in dollars after winning a top prize on an Ohio Lottery instant game. Joe M. Vest won $100,000 a year for the next twenty years on the $150 Million Blockbuster game. He filed a claim in the Lottery’s Akron-Canton regional office.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Vest receives $69,000 yearly for the next 20 years.  He chose the annuitized prize.

One of the seven top prizes loaded in this game, Vest purchased the winning ticket from Circle K #5411. Located at 1790 4th Street in Cuyahoga Falls, Circle K receives a $10,000 bonus for selling a top prize winning ticket.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $15.5 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Lottery’s fiscal year 2008 transfer to the Lottery Profits for Education Fund was $672.2 million.
