CLEVELAND… The holders of two second-tier prize-winning tickets in the Mega Millions game have come forward to claim their prizes. Michael Combs of Dayton and LuAnn Coleman of Bradner each matched five of the numbers drawn in the July 31, 2007 Mega Millions drawing. Combs filed a claim in the Dayton regional office. Coleman filed a claim in the Toledo regional office.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Combs and Coleman will each receive a check for $172,500. Coleman is very excited; not only about winning, but also about how she discovered that she had won.
“One of the ladies I work with had heard that the ticket was sold across the street from where I work. Usually my boss gives me money to buy his ticket for him there, but he’s on vacation this week, so just on the spur of the moment I bought one for me. Once in a blue moon, I’ll buy a ticket, and I just happened to get it this time.”
Coleman purchased the winning auto lotto ticket from Fuel Mart, 1004 Bowling Green Road in Bradner. The winning numbers were 5-18-37-39-43. The mega ball number was 42. Fuel Mart receives a $1,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
“We haven’t decided what to do with the money yet,” Coleman said. “I have two kids in college and one is about to get married. I’m not going to believe it until I see it.”
Combs purchased the wining ticket from Centerville Carry Out, 34 W. Franklin Street in Centerville. He picked the numbers. Centerville Carry Out also receives a $1000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is $77 million. Take a chance for education, play Ohio Lottery games. Odds are, you’ll have fun.
