Q.  What is the New Year’s Raffle?
A.  New Year’s Raffle is an exciting game with the best odds to win $1 million dollars! 

Q.  How many prizes are available?
A.  The game will consist of the following prizes:

• 4 - $1 million prizes (Odds: 1 in 125,000)
• 10 - $10,000 prizes (Odds: 1 in 50,000)
• 120 - $1,500 prizes (Odds: 1 in 4,167)
• 1000 - $500 prizes ( Odds: 1 in 500)
• 2,200 - $100 prizes (Odds: 1 in 227)

Q.  How much does each ticket cost?
A.  Each ticket costs $20.

Q.  When can I purchase a ticket?
A.  Tickets go on sale November 20, 2009.

Q.  Can I select my own numbers?
A.  No. Raffle numbers are generated through the gaming system. 

Q.  When does the New Year’s Raffle drawing occur?
A.  The New Year’s Raffle drawing will occur on Saturday, January 2, 2010.  The drawing date will not be extended. Results will be posted the same day on the Ohio Lottery's web site at 9:00 PM.

Q.  When can I cash my winning New Year’s Raffle ticket?
A.  If you win $500 or less, you may cash your ticket on the same day, January 2, 2010 at any retailer. Winners of $10,000 or more can redeem their prize at any Lottery Regional Office beginning Monday, January 4, 2010. In addition, $1,500 prizes can be redeemed at participating bank locations.

Q.  How will the Ohio Lottery publicize the winning raffle numbers?

A.  Several methods will be used to communicate the Winning Raffle Numbers to both retailers and players.  Here’s how it will happen:

• Retailers will be able to print a Winning Numbers Report from their Lottery terminals that will list all 3,334 winning ticket numbers after the 7:30 evening drawing.
• New Year’s Raffle drawing results will be posted to this web site at 9:00 PM on January 2, 2010.  All 3334 winning numbers will be listed sequentially and by prize tier.
• During the live broadcast of the evening drawing on Saturday, January 2, the two top tier ticket numbers (14 total) will be crawled by our carrier television stations.

Q.  Is there anything special about the numbering sequence for the sale of New Year’s Raffle tickets?
A.  Yes!  Tickets will be sold in order.  The first ticket sold will bear the number 000001.  The last ticket sold will be ticket number 500000. 

Q.  Will there be $100 Instant Win prizes this year?
A.  No.
