Teacher from Kean Elementary School receives recognition

WOOSTER - Julie Beckett is a 2nd grade teacher at Kean Elementary School. She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery. She represents the Akron-Canton area.

“Students in Mrs. Beckett’s class excel. Mrs. Beckett provides learning experiences for her second graders that result in academic advancement. Her use of incentives and positive feedback serve to encourage and motivate the students…” says Principal Peg Butler.

Beckett is described as “student centered.” Beckett helps with the Veterans’ Day program and leads the Earth Day activities for the school. She is committed professionally to the school district through her volunteer work she did to pilot one of the four reading programs.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Beckett will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
