INDEPENDENCE - Michelle Koussa is a 6th grade reading teacher at Independence Middle School. Koussa recently was acknowledged by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month for the month of October. She represents the Cleveland area by receiving this award.

Koussa is described as “a motivated, passionate teacher” at the middle school. She volunteers at the school by chaperoning and leading the Student Council organization. A fellow teacher says that, “Mrs. Koussa offers a warm, positive, fun environment for her students, caretakers and guests to learn.”

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Koussa will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Browns’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
