XENIA - Janet Kindred is a 3rd grade teacher at Shawnee Elementary located in Greene County. She was recently acknowledged as a Teacher of the Month for the month of October by the Ohio Lottery. She represents the Dayton area.

Kindred is described as making the district a stronger and more effective district. She has served as the Entry Year Facilitator and has co-chaired the committee that developed the teacher evaluation process. She has been a president of the Xenia Educational Association and is always looking for ways to improve her techniques in the classroom . Her career in education spans for almost 35 years.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Kindred will receive four tickets to a Cincinnati Bengals’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
