High school math teacher receives recognition
JEFFERSON - Carolyn Behr-Jerome is a 9-12th grade math teacher at Jefferson Area High School. She was recently recognized as a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery for the month of October. She represents the Youngstown area.
“Being a high school math teacher requires the ability to elucidate and motivate. Ms. Behr-Jerome excels on both counts. She makes the students understand. She makes sure all students understand. They walk out of her class feeling confident and excited about school. This self-assuredness affects their entire day,” says Danielle Jackson, a learning disabilities tutor at the school. Jackson comments that, “The life of a high school teacher can be complicated these days. Mrs. Behr-Jerome makes it seem like the best job in the world.”
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Behr-Jerome will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
