Math teacher is named Teacher of the Month

CHILLICOTHE – Amanda Mickey is a Mathematics teacher at Bishop Flaget Catholic School located in Ross County. Mickey was recently named October’s Teacher of the Month. She represents the Columbus area.

Mickey creates individualized instruction for her students and works hard to make sure that all students are able to meet the academic standard of Bishop Flaget School. She makes Math fun and exciting. She has instituted a “Pi Day” for the students to give them a fun way to celebrate the foundations of mathematics. She uses the SmartBoard and other technology to present information in a way to reach each student. Mickey is a Student Council Advisor and is described as “an asset to the school community and a team player.”

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Mickey will receive four tickets to a Columbus Blue Jackets’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
