12th grade teacher is named Teacher of the Month
MAUMEE - Ann Hale is a teacher at Maumee High School. She also works at Penta Career Center. Hale was nominated by the school principal of Maumee High School for the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the Month award. The 12th grade Marketing teacher is the recipient of this special award for the month of October. She represents the Toledo area.
Hale is described by her school principal, Larry Caffro, as having “an extraordinary ability to relate to students and to motivate them into performing community oriented learning experiences.” Her marketing classes are described as vocational in nature but are requested by many students. The projects that come out of this class are so good that many of the partners actually incorporate the recommendations from Maumee’s students into their every day operations.
Hale’s classes also operate a book store, regulate parking and selling of parking passes, conduct fundraisers, volunteer in the community and work on safety related projects. Hale oversees many projects. She coordinates and evaluates the students in the job that they must have as a part of the program. She is a member of SAIL, the Maumee drug prevention board.
For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, Hale will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
