Special Education Teacher is honored by the Ohio Lottery
AKRON Heidi Flohr is a 7th and 8th grade Special Education teacher at Hartford Middle School. She is an educator who gives 110% when it comes to her job. Flohr recently received the honor of being named Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery for the month of October. She represents the Akron-Canton area.
Flohr is described as “an advocate” for the school’s special needs students. She takes students on field trips when there is little or no money. She makes her students feel that they can succeed and they do because of her perseverance. Floyd was the head of the school’s Intervention Assistance Team and has assisted as the head of the Special Education Department; neither of which were paid positions.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Flohr will receive four tickets to a Lake Erie Monsters’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
