Teacher of many talents recognized by The Ohio State Lottery
LORAIN... Lynn Pritt is more than a Social Studies teacher at North Ridgeville Middle School. Her students appreciate the way she makes American History interesting, but new teachers also appreciate how she mentors them through the teacher testing process. The community appreciates how she leads 8th grade classes to raise funds for UNICEF, and her principal appreciates her professional and personal integrity.
“Lynn Pritt is a person of the highest personal and professional standards,” Principal John Komperda says. “She can lead, she can follow or she can do whatever is necessary to accomplish goals in her school and personal life. She is a role model in every way.”
The Ohio State Lottery is proud to honor Pritt as the October Teacher of the Month for the Lorain area. As Teacher of the Month, Pritt will receive four tickets to the Cleveland Browns game against Seattle on Nov. 4 and a prize pack of Browns’ merchandise. She will be publicly recognized during a pre-game ceremony on the field.
Pritt uses nontraditional teaching methods such as using novels in her American History curriculum. She also has introduced new technologies such as Smartboards and interactive distance learning equipment to her students. And because she was so successful at mentoring new teachers at her own school through the Praxis testing process, Pritt is now in her third year as the lead mentor for the North Ridgeville City Schools. In this role, she leads all the mentors and new teachers in the district through the Praxis process.
The Ohio State Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
