Greenmont Elementary Teacher Receives Award
Dayton... Pamela Karkalik is described as a “principal’s dream.” Karkalik serves on various committees such as textbook ordering and inventory, science fair, fifth grade graduation, and (KEA) Kettering Education Association Building Representative. Karkalik also spends her time at Greenmont Elementary teaching Social Studies and Language Arts to grades 4 and 5.
Karkalik is the kind of teacher who volunteers to help even before a job is delegated to her. Tim Johnson, the principal at Greenmont Elementary, comments that when Karkalik does a job you know it will be done right. Johnson says, “You will not find a more deserving teacher for this award and my few words cannot express what Pam means to the students, staff, and parents at Greenmont Elementary.”
It is no surprise that Karkalik is being recognized as The Teacher of the Month by The Ohio State Lottery for the month of October. Karkalik represents the Dayton area as a recipient of the award. For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, Karkalik will receive recognition and four tickets to a Dayton Bombers’ game (Nov. 3) as well as a merchandise prize pack.
The Ohio State Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the programs and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
