Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month

North Ridgeville - Christina Bright is a 9th-12th grade teacher at North Ridgeville High School located in Lorain County. She has her Master’s degree in Educational Technology.

“Christina is a teacher who is dedicated to helping her students achieve their goals. She is always looking for ways to improve her teaching techniques and to reach all of her students,” says fellow teacher Jody Yoxthimer. She volunteers time outside of her work day to the students by coaching the tennis team, serving as a class advisor and organizing various fundraising events for the teams at the school along with the prom. She encourages her students to give back to their community and in this way, is a wonderful role model of community service to her students.

Bright encourages her students to work at their own pace. She helps those who struggle and keeps up with the latest teaching practices through collaboration with her peers and continual training. She has implemented printed and electronic portfolios as a form of evaluation. This enables students to improve their skills while creating a platform to showcase their accomplishments.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Bright will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Browns’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
