Parkview Elementary educator receives an award
WOOSTER - Judy Montelione is a 5th and 6th grade Special Education teacher at Parkview Elementary in Wayne County. She was recently named the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the month for the month of November. She represents the Akron/Canton area.
Montelione is a role model in many ways for the young and developing intermediate students. She is an intervention specialist. “She provides opportunities for students to build their functional/life economic skills by coaching them as they ‘work’ at our school store, which stocks and inventories,” says Principal Julie Frankl.
Montelione is the assistant student council advisor, and she also attended a summer Positive Behavior Support Conference. She is working towards developing a school wide plan with a committee. She is described by Frankl as an example of the power of giving yourself to children and to the Parkview Community.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Montelione will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
