Urban First Grade Teacher: Recognized
by The Ohio State Lottery
Campbell... Kimberly Pecchia, a 1st grade teacher at Campbell Elementary, is honored by The Ohio State Lottery as the month of November’s Teacher of the Month. Campbell represents the Youngstown area.
Robert Walls, Pecchia’s administrator, describes Pecchia as “a professional staff member with compassion, enthusiasm, intellectual intensity, and positive character who is a constructive beacon of hope.” Pecchia presents herself as a professional, role model for students, staff, and her peers.
She is described as standing out above her peers in the classroom. Walls states that Pecchia advances her students to higher levels on a daily basis through the use of “dynamic, tactile, and scientifically researched curriculum lessons.” Pecchia also serves on a grade level team and other various school committees. She is described as organized and able to complete assignments on time.
Walls writes that Pecchia is a “tremendous team player”. She demonstrates outstanding teamwork skills and is able to work well with others. Walls also shares that in his “25 plus years as an educator, a few teachers stand out above their peers.” Walls believes that Pecchia is one of those teachers because of her intellectual, professional, and personal development.
Pecchia will receive four tickets to a Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, and a merchandise prize pack for being honored as Teacher of the Month. The Ohio State Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year.
