Industrial Technology Teacher: Recipient of
The Ohio State Lottery’s Teacher of the Month Award
Jamestown... Steve Benton, a teacher at Greeneview High School, recently received recognition as The Ohio State Lottery’s Teacher of the Month award for the month of November. Benton represents the Dayton area.
In addition to teaching for 21 years, Benton has coached a variety of teams such as GHS Varsity Baseball, Springfield South High School Varsity Baseball, and GHS Golf. Benton graduated from Jessamine County High School and from Morehead State University.
Benton is thought of by his principal, Wallace D. Campbell, as “practical.” Benton is able to work with some of the most difficult students because of the hands on nature of his classes. Campbell states that, Benton “develops relevant and fun lessons.” One of Benton’s classes built corn hole boards for a club activity. Benton’s teaching assignments include Photography, Drafting, Woodworking, Welding, Crafts, Construction, Engineering, and Home Maintenance.
For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, Benton will receive four tickets to the Bengals’ game, recognition at the event, and a merchandise prize pack. The Ohio State Lottery will continue to recognize Teachers of the Month and Academic All Stars throughout the school year.
