Language Arts Teacher Is Recognized By The Ohio Lottery
New Lebanon... Candace Hundley is a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts Intervention Specialist at Dixie Middle School located in Montgomery County. Hundley recently was named the Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month for the month of May. Hundley represents the Dayton area.
Hundley is described as having a “positive, upbeat attitude.” She creates “dynamic” learning experiences for her students. Her students created a monthly school newsletter which was written, edited, printed and sold entirely by her special education students. The students at the school await the new monthly publications.
“Mrs. Hundley’s accomplishments go beyond the academic learning that directly takes place in her classroom. Being an effective communicator, Mrs. Hundley has established great rapport with her students. Her contagious enthusiasm has encouraged many of her middle school students to move outside of their comfort zone and try new experiences,” says Tammy Broughton (fellow teacher).
Hundley is described as a motivator and a leader. She has a positive reflection on the overall school environment. “Her quest for knowledge and best teaching practice fuels her desire to continually seek out new opportunities for professional development,” says Broughton. Hundley is involved in the community where she teaches and resides. She attends courses to further enhance her teaching repertoire.
Hundley will receive four tickets to a Cincinnati Reds’ game, merchandise from the team, recognition at the event, and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year.
