Avon East Elementary School teacher receives recognition from the Ohio Lottery

AVON - Thomas Ditzler was recently named an Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month. He teaches 1st grade at Avon East Elementary located in Lorain County. He is described as an “extraordinary” teacher.

Ditzler has held his position in the highest regard for 7 years. “There is no one more dedicated to ensuring the success of all his students than Mr. Ditzler. He does this, first and foremost, by making learning fun, and by being here day in and day out and most evenings, too! He loves, encourages and rewards each student individually, recognizing that all children have varying skill levels. In turn, the students strive to do well, to make him proud of them,” says Theresa King, a parent with a child in the classroom.

Ditzler believes in a strong parent- teacher partnership. He supplies the parents with forms of communication such as weekly newsletters, updated Web site information and invites them to become involved with the work stations inside the classroom. His dedication to the field of teaching makes the world a better place in which to live.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Ditzler will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
