Keene Elementary teacher is acknowledged
as a Teacher of the Month
COSHOCTON - An elementary school teacher from Keene Elementary was recently named an Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month. Barb Arney teaches 4th, 5th and 6th grade social studies. She represents the Columbus area for the month of March by receiving this honor.
Principal Jerry Olinger describes Arney as having the “ability and desire to keep generating different ways for her kids to learn. If students are falling behind in other content areas, Miss Arney takes it upon herself to make time in her daily schedule to help her colleagues get the kids back on pace. She is the teacher in our building to go to when help is needed. Miss Arney is always willing to help her students and colleagues.”
Arney is said to be a “tremendous asset” to the school as she is able to persist in her teaching. Her students want to please her. The desire for students to learn is there because of the effort that Arney puts forth in the classroom. She is well respected by her peers and is said to be “the most flexible teacher” on the staff.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Arney will receive four tickets to a Blue Jackets’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
