New Middletown, OHDr. Robert Walls, principal at Campbell Elementary School, says that Mary Jo Ugolini, a second grade teacher, “consistently advances her students to higher levels of academic achievement on a daily basis using dynamic, tactile, and scientifically researched curriculum lessons based upon state standards and benchmarks.”
Ugolini serves on grade level team and various school committees. She is organized and timely in her completion of assignments. She is described as a “tremendous team player” who demonstrates outstanding teamwork skills in working with others. She is a good role model for students, staff, her peers, and the general public.
Dr. Walls says that Ugolini “is a professional staff member with compassion, enthusiasm, intellectual intensity and positive character.” She is described as a beacon of hope and inspiration for those who come into contact with her.
It is with no surprise that Ugolini is the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the Month for the month of March. Ugolini represents the Youngstown area. For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, she will receive tickets to a Lake Erie Monsters game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team, and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
