Lorain--“Diana Beetler is an outstanding faculty member at the Walter G. Nord Middle School in Amherst. She constantly accesses each student and holds them to high expectations for success, “says Barry Kaufman, a fellow colleague of Beetler’s.
Beetler is the recipient of the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the Month Award for the month of July. She represents the Lorain area. Beetler teaches 5th grade Math at the school. She is very active in the Parent-Teacher organization. She uses manipulatives and computer technology to motivate students. Beetler has also provided In Service Math curriculum to educate her colleagues in the Amherst School District. Beetler is active in the community by volunteering for an event called “Pennies for Patients”.
For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, Beetler will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Indians’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team, and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
