Xenia High School teacher is recognized by the Ohio Lottery

XENIA - Mike Anderson is a teacher at Xenia High School located in Greene County. Anderson was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month for the month of January. He represents the Dayton area.

Anderson is a Xenia High School graduate who attended Wilmington College on a football scholarship. He later returned to teach and coach at his alma mater, Xenia High School. He teaches Industrial Technology to 9th-12th graders.

Anderson is described as willing to do whatever it takes to work as a team. He communicates effectively and distinguishes himself from others by the work he does with his students. He teaches students skills that they will need for the career center. He coaches freshmen football and encourages his student athletes to be leaders. “Students respect him and know he is there for them,” says Karol Warden, the district’s assistant principal.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Anderson will receive four tickets to a Cincinnati Cyclones’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.

The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
