4th grade reading and writing educator receives recognition
MIDVALE - A student from Midvale Elementary in Tuscarawas County recently nominated her teacher, Brenda Stafford, as a Teacher of the Month. “I feel that Mrs. Stafford should be considered for the award because she cares about us, and she is always willing to do extra things in order to help us get a better education. She makes us feel welcome. She treats everyone the same. If you have a question she’s always willing to help find answers,” writes Cody Booth, a student of Stafford’s.
Stafford currently teaches 4th grade reading and writing and is described by Booth as always smiling and “Christian.” She is described as going above and beyond her duties. She attends extra activities to support the students and the events they participate in at the school. Stafford was recently named the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the Month for the month of January. She represents the Youngstown area.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Stafford will receive four tickets to a Lake Erie Monster’s game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
