CLEVELAND - Kathleen Gallagher is a teacher at St. Mark School located in Cleveland. She teaches 5th grade social studies and was recently named the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the Month for the month of January. She is described as an “outstanding educator who brings about high levels of achievement in the classroom.”

Gallagher has implemented many activities at St. Mark School. She has led the Student Council, helped with a recycling project and organized Arbor Day celebrations. Grandparents Day was started by Gallagher at the school as well. Gallagher has organized a History Day at the school for the past 12 years and has encouraged the community to be involved with the school. She is known by many as imaginative, creative and extremely dedicated to her profession. She was nominated by her principal, Dr. Marilyn Kurnath, who points out that Gallagher reaches out to the community by planning so many activities for the children to participate in and enjoy.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Gallagher will receive four tickets to a Karamu House production, recognition at the event and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
