2nd grade teacher is honored by the Ohio Lottery:
Teacher of the Month
NORTH RIDGEVILLE - Deborah Fassett is a 2nd grade teacher at Liberty Elementary in North Ridgeville. Fassett is the Ohio Lottery’s Teacher of the Month for the month of January. She represents the Lorain area. She is described by her principal, Linda Lapp, as professional both in and out of the classroom.
“She is always going the extra mile for all of her students whether it is in the classroom, on the playground, or at home. She inspires her students to think beyond the typical answers and perform to their absolute best,” says Lapp. Fassett has been honored in the past by the local Parent Teacher Association and has been a recipient of the Martha Holden Jennings Award twice.
She is a creative educator who teaches each child in their “own unique learning style,” states Lapp. She uses centers in the classroom, leveled academic lessons and individual activities to motivate the children. She loves her career as an educator. She has past experience with both special needs and gifted children.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Fassett will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
