McGUFFEY - Laura Rettig is a teacher at Upper Scioto Valley High School located in Hardin County. She is a science teacher who has helped raise the Ohio graduation scores at the district from her arrival on campus. She was recently named a Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery for the month of February.

Rettig cares about her students and she tries to improve learning at the school with hard work and determination. She challenges her students and engages them in their studies. She recently started selling snacks and drinks to raise money for school fundraisers and for those less fortunate students within the school district. The money helps defray the cost for the students who need to pay for the ACT test or to be able to attend a field trip. She truly cares about the students of the district.

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Rettig will receive four tickets to a Toledo Walleye’s game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
