PICKERINGTON—The Ohio Lottery recognizes Mark Geist, a 6th grade teacher from Harmon Middle School located in Fairfield County. Geist is the Teacher of the Month for the month of February. He represents the Columbus area by receiving this award.

Geist is described as a leader in the classroom. He also provides assistance to other teachers. He is a positive male role model for his students. He is able to take students from where they are academically and bring them to the point that they need to be. He is able to deal with many different learning styles and strives to differentiate his curriculum where it is needed for his students to achieve success. Students strive to work hard for him and do well in his classroom which is described as a “classroom of excellence.”

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Geist will receive four tickets to a Columbus Blue Jackets’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
