Xenia High School teacher receives recognition from Ohio Lottery
XENIA Patrick Marrinan, a social studies teacher at Xenia High School, was recently honored by the Ohio Lottery as a Teacher of the Month for the month of February. He represents the Dayton area.
Marrinan is referred to as a “master teacher.” He serves on the School Improvement Committee and is a Varsity Boys Soccer Team coach. He is in charge of the entry level teachers program which helps teachers in their first year of teaching to be successful in the classroom. He has been honored as “Coach of the Year” for the Greater Western Ohio Conference four times. He has also won “Top Academic Accume” for soccer teams throughout the state. Assistant Principal Karol Warden comments that Marrinan makes sure that the athletes are “scholars” first.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Marrinan will receive four tickets to a Dayton Bombers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
