Brooklyn High Media and English teacher is honored by Ohio Lottery
BROOKLYN -- One of the qualifications of being honored as an Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month is effective communications skills. It seems that Robert Kelber, an English and Media teacher at Brooklyn High School, has that part down pat.
In fact, Patricia Kelly, who teaches with Kelber at Brooklyn, says that in his Senior English class, he “teaches his students to analyze current methods of thinking” and that he brings in the latest developments in technology to his Media classes.
But communications isn’t Kelber’s only forte. He is also known to be “extremely well-organized” and to be “dedicated to his work.” He also keeps his students enthralled and interested in the material.
“He is excited about the material he teaches and that excitement comes across to the students in his presentations,” Kelly says. “He keeps the students interested by being fast-paced and having them be actively involved.”
All these are good reasons to honor Kelber, who is the Ohio Lottery’s February Teacher of the Month for the Cleveland area. As an Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month, Kelber will receive four tickets to an upcoming Cleveland Cavaliers game, where he will be publicly recognized. He will receive a prize pack of Cavaliers merchandise and assorted Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
