CINCINNATI – Evelyn Garcia is a Spanish teacher for grades 9 thru 12 at Winton Woods High School. She was recently named the Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery.

“Resourceful, personable, considerate, prepared and accomplished” are words used to describe Garcia by Byron Trapp, a school counselor from Winton Woods City Schools. She is creative and dedicated. She helps her students see the “big picture” in hopes that this will help them project ahead. She has the students speak Spanish in the hallways or outside of school when they see her.

She is involved in her community and is a positive influence to many. Her character and work ethic are impressive. Trapp comments that “She invests all of her energy and creativity into her lesson plans and job responsibilities. She has great rapport with her students and has shown great dedication to being the best teacher she can be.”

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Garcia will receive four tickets to a Cincinnati Cyclones’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
