Hilliard... Mary Torris, a teacher of multi-handicapped students, is being recognized by the Ohio State Lottery as December’s Teacher of the Month. Torris teaches multi-handicapped students at Hilliard Heritage Middle School. Torris represents Central Ohio.

Torris is described as someone who has a patient heart. The school nurse, Kimberly Daroski, says that “Regardless of what comes her way, Mary keeps her composure and moves ahead with determination and a true dedication and love for her students.” Torris is admired by her peers for her strength of character. Daroski says, “She inspires each of us to be stronger, more patient, and more tolerant individuals.”

For being recognized as Teacher of the Month, Torris will receive four tickets to a Blue Jackets’ game, a merchandise prize pack, and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise.
