Normandy High School student receives recognition

PARMA - Scott Nemet is a 10th grade student at Normandy High School located in Cuyahoga County. He recently received the award known as Academic All Star by the Ohio Lottery for the month of October. He represents the Cleveland area.

“Scott Nemet is a fantastic student! Scott comes to class everyday with his homework complete and a genuine interest in learning. He works very hard every single day. As a high school math teacher, I encounter all kinds of students. Scott stands out because of his respect for others,” says Allison Kensicki, Nemet’s math teacher. Nemet volunteers to answer questions and has a positive influence on the students in his class. He is described as having a “refreshing attitude.”

For being recognized as an Academic All Star, Nemet will receive four tickets to a Lake Erie Monsters’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.

The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
